The course framework is designed to provide you with both hands-on and lecture component learning and are held in the Australian Dental Centre of Excellence world-class facility in Woolloongabba, Brisbane. Courses are open to all dental practitioners with an interest in the field including; hygienists, therapists and general dentists.

This is a one-day hands on course will help practitioners better manage patients with molar-incisor hypomineralisation. MIH is very common affecting 1-in-6 patients and can commonly be mismanaged.
After completing the course, attendees will feel confident in diagnosing and managing cases of molar-incisor hypomineralisation. This is a very practical course that will focus on ensuring that patients get the best outcomes for life, even if they have severe forms of MIH. You will also get an orthodontic perspective for management of extraction of MIH affected 6’s

This is a one-day hands on course that will help practitioners manage dental traumas. After completing the course, attendees will feel confident in diagnosing and managing most dental traumas to the benefit of their patients. They will also understand how best to set their patients up for life after a dental trauma in the permanent dentition of a growing child.
The course will include 7 hours of CPD and cover the following topics.
THE TOPICS INCLUDE:
How to properly examine and diagnose dental traumas.
Management of primary teeth traumas.
Management of permanent teeth traumas.
Medium-to-longer term considerations for traumas to the immature permanent dentitiono.
How to set your patient up to achieve the best outcomes for life.
HANDS-ON COMPONENTS INCLUDE:
How to reposition luxated teeth and place a splint.
Cvek pulpotomy on a permanent tooth.
Strip crown restoration for a rapid repair of a fractured anterior tooth.

This is our flagship course that will provide you with the skills to manage paediatric dental patients successfully and confidently in the general dental environment. We will be providing over 6 hours of hands-on, along with lecture components, so that the knowledge gained can complement the clinical skills you will learn. Along with the knowledge and skills sessions, we will also be providing you with behaviour management tools, as this is one of the biggest challenges in paediatric dentistry, with recordings from our clinic.
This course will include 14 hours of CPD.
THE TOPICS INCLUDE:
How to examine compliant, non-compliant and very young children
What to look for and what to discuss
How, why and when to take radiographs on children
Current concepts in Dental Caries
Tools to prevent and arrest dental caries including a review of Silver Diamine Fluoride
Restorative materials, indications, contraindications, and success rates in paediatric dentistry
Hands on restorations, stainless steel crowns, sealants
Conventional and Hall Crown techniques
Hands on pulpal therapy in paediatric dentistry
Indication and contraindications
Materials
Space maintainers - hand on
Dealing with failures, non-compliant children, and difficult parents
Successful treatment planning with several case examples
We will also give you tips on how to talk to parents and children to get the best outcomes

Specialist Paediatric Dentist
Dr. Sarah is a specialist paediatric dentist from Montreal in Canada. She graduated from Laval University with a doctorate in dental medicine in 2012 and completed a residency at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. Her love of children brought her to complete a specialty degree in Paediatric Dentistry in 2016 at the University of Montreal. She continued her training as a Senior Dental Registrar at the Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne.
Specialist Paediatric Dentist
Dr Tim is a member of the Australian Dental Association, Australian and New Zealand Society of Paediatric Dentists, Australasian Academy of Paediatric Dentists, European Academy of Paediatric Dentistry, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and Royal Australasian College of Dentists. He is a Major in the Army and is an Associate Lecturer at the University of Queensland.
